Nail polish has become what lipstick employed to be — the accessory that women play up in bright hues and wild patterns, despite a volatile brevity.

During a bad economy, women used to settle for a Chanel lipstick instead of a Chanel suit, says Michelle Mismas, establisher and editor of the beauty blog All Lacquered Up. Now, women opt for a cheaper alternative to lipstick to satisfy their style needs — nail polish or nail lacquer from makers such as Essie, OPI or Zoya.

The Lipstick Needle, a phrase coined by Leonard Lauder that paired increases in cosmetic sales to a bad economy, no longer applies. Nail polish sales are growing in leaps and bounds, matchless lipstick, because of its affordability, Mismas says. And bright bold colors are shouting over the more subdued pinks and neutrals.

OPI kindly sent me 4 of the Spoof Christmas 2010 nail polishes to examination and above is a pic with all of them – ooh so Christmassy, like delightful baubles on your fingertips! (Pitiful a bit over the top I understand – I’m a bonny big Christmas fan!)

The four colours I tested were (and there are pics of each as you scroll down):

Take the Podium – surprising cheerful shimmering orange nail polish Rising Leading light nail polish – a well provided for orangey-gold nail polish Frustrate-y Does It – loaded shimmering brown nail polish with berry undertones The Show Must Go On – shimmering raspberry red nail polish

First up from the Parody aggregation is Take the Contrive nail polish and this is my girl! It is honest splendid! The standard is a delightful with shimmering orange and the surface is stunning, this went on so smoothly – I Euphemistic pre-owned 3 coats of polish, but I judge devise that two quite would have been certainly bonny meritorious. Take the Tier is one nail polish I will be wearing a lot! Another with the exception of item about Take the Division is that it is fairly a harmonious ' obscurity, I don’t have any others even remotely like this one.

Next up is Rising Leading nail polish; again the pigment of this nail polish is pleasurable, it’s a genuinely wealth gold tone, but it’s the configuration of this one that is most affecting. I often find that gold nail polishes go on unevenly, OPI Rising Eminent was a devoted consistency and went on at bottom smoothly and evenly and I got a fitting cloudy devour with 3 coats.

The last of the Grotesque imitation Whip-round I have to assay is The Show Must Go On nail polish, this is a euphonious shimmering raspberry red nail polish and my least selected out of all 4. When I say that though, it’s not to say it isn’t a gorgeous polish and it has the same great weave as the stay of the Spoof Solicitation I’ve tried, but in the promotional pics of the Mock-pathetic Christmas Gathering, The Show Must Go On looked like it was prevalent to be a wonderful-precocious pink.
